Tridonic PC1x80-6 T5 COMBO lP 220-240V Ballast

The Tridonic PC 1×80‑6 T5 COMBO lp is a combined electronic ballast plus emergency module, designed specifically for use with one 80 W T5 fluorescent lamp. It receives 220–240 V AC (50/60 Hz) mains power, and in normal operation offers warm‑start lamp ignition and automatic restart after lamp replacement or power interruptions. The compact package has a slim 21 × 30 mm cross‑section, making it suitable for compact luminaire designs.  Its advanced Intelligent Voltage Guard feature signals overvoltage and undervoltage conditions, shutting down if necessary to protect the unit.

In emergency mode, it supports selectable 1‑hour or 3‑hour durations, powered by an internal battery pack (NiCd / NiMH) which the module charges under normal operation. The unit includes deep‑discharge protection, polarity reversal protection and short‑circuit proof battery connection to ensure safe and reliable emergency performance. In emergency operation, the T5 lamp continues in AC mode (same as normal operation) with cathode heating to maintain lamp function.  Under reference conditions, the COMBO units are typically rated for an average lifetime of about 50,000 hours with a <10 % failure rate.
