Tridonic Basic DIM RCL Digital Control Module

The Tridonic basicDIM RCL is a compact digital control module designed for luminaire‑embedded installation, combining ambient light sensing, motion (occupancy) detection, and a push‑button input on a single device. Its intelligent logic enables daylight harvesting (dimming based on natural light) and on/off control via the switch input. The module outputs a DSI (Digital Signal Interface) signal that can control up to 25 DSI ballasts (provided wiring length allows).  A Link Line interface allows synchronisation of up to 20 basicDIM RCL modules, enabling grouped behaviour of multiple luminaires.

In terms of specifications, it operates from 220–240 V AC (50/60 Hz) with a low power draw of 1.5 W in standby. Mounting is typically within the luminaire (or optionally ceiling with strain relief accessory). It supports up to 4 basicDIM sensors (connected in parallel), where the average reading is used for regulation. Ambient operating range is 0 to +60 °C, rated IP20, and its dimensions are compact: 159 × 30 × 21 mm.  Note: the module must be used with sensors to function, and the input “T” accepts push‑button (momentary) switches (not standard latching switches).
