What Does "CCT Selectable" Mean on Some Bulkhead Models?

CCT stands for Correlated Colour Temperature, which refers to the colour appearance of the light emitted by a bulb or fixture, measured in Kelvins (K). Different colour temperatures affect the ambience and visibility in a space:

  • Warm white (around 3000K) creates a soft, cosy atmosphere, ideal for residential or hospitality settings.
  • Cool white (around 4000K) offers a bright, neutral light that’s perfect for commercial spaces, offices, and retail.
  • Daylight (around 5700K–6500K) delivers a crisp, clear light, often used in task lighting, garages, and exterior applications.

A CCT selectable LED bulkhead includes a built-in switch (often hidden under the diffuser or near the mounting base) that lets the installer or user toggle between these colour options before or during installation. This feature is especially useful in:

  • Multi-use buildings with changing lighting needs.
  • Contractor or facilities management projects where preferences may vary between tenants or over time.
  • Stock reduction, as one model suits several applications.

Many bulkheads at LampShopOnline include CCT switching functionality, providing excellent versatility without the need to purchase multiple variants. Be sure to check the product specifications for selectable CCT ranges and switch locations.
