Selecting the Best LED GU10 Halogen Replacements

Wattage Comparison Table
Naturally, you want your new LED GU10 spotlight to give you the same bright light as your existing halogen GU10 bulb. In the early years of LED, light output was questionable, but due to advancements in technology, it’s fair to say that you can expect pretty much the same Lumen output from your LED’s – without having to break the bank either.

Can I replace like-for-like bulbs?
The quick answer is yes - the longer answer is it depends on a) the bulb type and b) whether you are currently using a dimmable halogen circuit and switch.
Most non-dimmable GU10 Halogen bulbs can be easily replaced with an equivalent GU10 LED as electrical current conversion happens at the bulb. Only certain bulb types do not do this and may need additional drivers to convert the AC current to DC.
Please call us or speak to a qualified electrician should you wish to clarify which bulbs these are or have any concerns you are fitting a bulb which may not be compatible with your existing fittings.

Buying a dimmable LED GU10 spotlight to replace a dimmable halogen GU10 doesn’t guarantee your current dimmer switch will work due to the vast difference in bulb wattage between the two technologies.
